American Idol Castoff News

Remember her?

The castoff whom Simon Cowell called the "Green Goblin" was found dead in the New Jersey shore community of Seaside Heights. She was 25 years old. She was apparently struck and killed by a car in what authorities are calling an apparent homicide. Scary.

She was one of American Idols' angriest and most "expressive" contestants.

Human Heart Nature

This is not a paid ad.

Ever since I had Jacob, I have been on the lookout for organic, affordable products. Because who knows what chemicals our regular consumer goods carry, right? We don't know what those chemicals and preservatives do to our health, and to think we use these products on a regular basis! When my pediatrician's friend Dr. Neila Batucan found out that I only used cloth diapers instead of the disposable ones, she referred me to Human Heart Nature. This company sells affordable, Philippine-made, organic products. And I just recently found out, effective too! Their products come only from organic farmers in the Philippines who are able to produce to international standards. So not only are they pro-environment, they are also pro-Philippines. So far, I'm very happy I've gone organic.

Michael's Onset Accident

CNN posted the 25-year old video of Michael Jackson's onset accident during this taping for a Pepsi commercial. The fireworks went off too early. This event may have triggered his addiction to prescription painkillers, they say. You can see that he was completely unaware of it until he reached the bottom of the stairs. Marlon Brando's son was the one who first reacted and tried to put off the fire. When he got up, he clearly had a bald spot on his head and he was distraught. I can only imagine how painful that must be. He suffered second and third degree burns on his face and scalp.

Shark Washes Ashore on Long Island, New York

And speaking of more unusual events... Imagine the surprise of the residents nearby when they saw this 15-foot giant. Whatever happened to this basking shark? It reminds me of the incident in Sasa wharf Davao, maybe a year ago, where a couple of dolphins appeared near the shore. Could the changing water temperature be the cause? Possibly so.

Evian Roller Babies

My aunt from Chicago sent me an email and attached this commercial. I found it cute, yes... but a little creepy as well. Especially the part where they jumped towards the fence. I don't know why...

Ever Since I Became a Mom...

1. I am more weepy. I would get teary-eyed before when I saw stray pups or kittens, or old homeless folks but now, seeing young kids (especially if the parents are irresponsible) makes me want to adopt.
2. I never hated mosquitoes this much!
3. I am paranoid about the things I touch. That's why I always have hand sanitizer with me. Organic of course.
4. I don't get annoyed with children anymore.
5. When I'm in a department store, I take too long in the children's department.
6. I have too many baby books.

To buy or not to buy?

Last December 2008, I posted my Christmas wishlist. I am happy to say that 50% of that list has been fulfilled. I am thankful, believe it or not. But I still want that Canon G10. I already have a Canon 400D dslr, but it's just too bulky to carry around, not to mention paparazzi-like and every person would feel threatened (Hello? Lindsay Lohan is that you? I don't think so!). Did I mention the 14.7 megapixels? And Martha Stewart has one! =( Should I?
The old-school appearance of a film camera looks good, yes?

Halfway!

It's Jacob's 6th month! How fast time flies. Cliche I know, but it's true! At 6 mos. he is able to crawl (more like glide actually), sit up on his own but he gets wobbly still, it's ok. He likes potatoes & milk! It's carrots next week so we'll see what he thinks about that. He can change positions even if you're carrying him, not a problem for him really. And he appreciates the game peek-a-boo. Yay! And he doesn't like loud noises. He's also starting to talk, if you consider saying "da-da-da" or ga-ga-ga, or "wa-wa-wa" as talking. Here's to more milestones!!
